In the 70s and 80s I set up a darkroom periodically wherever I could: the kitchen, bathroom, storeroom. I loved the process, the smell of the chemicals, the safelight atmosphere. Photography gave way to painting and sculpture and for a while the camera was only a resources gathering tool. I came back to photography as a painter and all my work has been colour. I'm about to turn 60 next week and I want to return to B&W for some of my work, this time without the chemicals and darkroom. Here's my first offering. From a shoot a few weeks ago; the model prefers to remain anonymous. |
